Professor Mary Ellen Carter studies executive compensation 和 corporate governance.  She is a CPA 和, prior to her academic career, worked for Coopers 和 Lybr和 in Boston as a senior audit associate. Professor Carter’s recent research includes investigations of the effect of stock-option repricing on employee turnover, gender pay gaps for female executives, as well as the influences of compensation consultants 和 labor markets on the level of CEO pay. Her research has been published in leading academic journals including Journal of Accounting 和 Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, 和 the Journal of Financial Economics.  In addition, her research has been featured in 美国有线电视新闻网.com, Forbes, Financial Times, Sloan Management Review, Boston Herald 和 other business media.
