Professor Mary Ellen Carter studies executive compensation 和 corporate governance.  She is a CPA 和, prior to her academic career, worked for Coopers 和 Lybr和 in Boston as a senior audit associate. Professor Carter’s recent research includes investigations of the effect of stock-option repricing on employee turnover, gender pay gaps for female executives, as well as the influences of compensation consultants 和 labor markets on the level of CEO pay. Her research has been published in leading academic journals including Journal of Accounting 和 Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies,  the Journal of Financial Economics.  In addition, her research has been featured in 美国有线电视新闻网.com, Forbes, Financial Times, Sloan Management ReviewBoston Herald 和 other business media.
